ABOUT

IMG_3801-1.JPG

I didn’t grow up with a clear plan for my future, and for a long time I felt like I was moving through school without a real sense of direction. That changed in grade 11 when my co‑op teacher arranged a placement with an interior designer in Collingwood. Walking into that studio for the first time felt like stepping into a world I didn’t even know existed. Watching ideas evolve from sketches to digital models to finished spaces sparked something in me I hadn’t felt before—a sense of clarity, excitement, and possibility.

Looking back, the signs were there long before I recognized them. Since grade 10, I’d had a natural knack for digital programs like AutoCAD. I loved the blend of creativity and precision, the problem‑solving, and the satisfaction of turning ideas into something visual and structured. At the time, I didn’t realize those skills were pointing me toward a career; they were just something I enjoyed. But my co‑op placement connected the dots. It showed me how my technical strengths, curiosity, and love for design could come together in a way that felt meaningful and fulfilling.

That experience didn’t just introduce me to interior design—it shaped the path I’ve been on ever since. It grounded my passion, guided my education, and helped me understand the kind of designer I want to become. And here I am now, in my final semester, six years later.

If you want, I can help you refine this even further to match the exact tone of your portfolio—more formal, more emotional, more concise, or more bold.
